Bedding Search

Posted on

So last year my Dad gifted us new bedding for our second anniversary… the only catch was that we had to find it. Finding the perfect duvet cover proved to be quite difficult… however we finally have it narrowed down to 3 different styles – they all happen to be West Elm.

The biggest thing for me was if we were going to have a solid color duvet (we haven’t seen any reasonably priced patterned duvets in the last year that we both like), it needed to have some texture. Plus we won’t have to worry about wrinkles in the cover. 🙂 Bonus! Sunday after church we headed down to look at them in person.

Square Tuck style - blue sage

We both liked this square tuck, and it pretty much is our second favorite. The tucks look secure. The only downside is that the colors didn’t really seem to be what we were looking for — too much green.

Pintuck Style – deeper blue
Pintuck Style – dark gray

The pintuck isn’t nearly as shiny as it appears in the photo which was a good thing. BUT We allow our dog on the bed and the pintuck style really didn’t seem like it would handle the constant wear/tear that comes with a puppy. Those pintucks look like they are on the brink of popping out. Durability is definitely something we want/need – as we use a duvet that I’ve had since my jr year in college and we both love it – but its wearing holes, so we are glad to get something new!

Parachute Style – Gray

This is the style we’ve settled on – at least to order and give it a try at home. I envision finding an awesome throw in either a great print or a bold color as well as some euro shams to match and bring more interest to the set. For now we’ll rotate our natural color and green apple color sheets until we find the right shams and throws.

I’ll take some pics of our room in progress as soon as we get the order in the mail! 🙂
